This concert, featuring Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125,” is a centerpiece of our season, celebrating not only the profound legacy of Beethoven but also a decade of transformative leadership and artistic innovation with Maestro Abrams at the Louisville Orchestra.
Under the baton of Maestro Teddy Abrams, together with the talented choir director Kent Hatteberg and the Louisville Chamber Choir, we are thrilled to present Beethoven’s monumental “Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125.” This symphonic masterpiece, known for its profound depth and universal message of unity and joy, will feature four distinguished soloists: Marquita Richardson (soprano), Tammy Mumford (mezzo-soprano), Nathan Farrington (tenor), and Dashon Burton (bass). A masterpiece whose staggering influence can be heard throughout classical music, it concludes with the famous Ode to Joy, which powerfully calls for understanding, peace and universal goodwill.
